Financial Moves to Make Before December 31, and Which Ones to Review with Your CPA

Every December has a deadline hiding in it. Not just April fifteenth. December thirty-first, quiet, easy to miss, and once it passes, a handful of financial moves close for the year whether you got to them or not.

I sat down and built a list. Not a list of everything you could possibly do before the year ends, that list is too long to be useful. A list of what's actually worth your attention, split into two parts. Some of it is mine to help you think through. Some of it belongs with your CPA.

That split matters to me. I'm a financial advisor, not a tax preparer. I stay in my lane, and when something's outside it, I bring in the right partner, in this case, yours. A Roth conversion, tax-loss harvesting, whether your retirement contributions are on track before the year closes, whether a required distribution has actually been taken, those are financial planning decisions with real tax consequences, and I can walk through those with you. The exact bracket math on a specific conversion amount, whether a business expense qualifies for a deduction this year, that's your CPA's job, and I'd rather point you there than guess.

I built the whole thing into a checklist. Two columns, one for the planning conversations, one for the CPA conversations, so you know which is which before you walk into either room. Enter your email below and I'll send it straight to you.

If something on it raises a question specific to your situation, that's exactly what I'm here for.
